7. Bonobos
A while ago on TV we saw a nature program about a small chimpanzee like ape, known as a Bonobo. Sharing more than 98% of our genetic profile, the Bonobo is even more closely related to us than Chimpanzees are. They're as close to us as foxes are to dogs. Bonobo's live in the humid forests south of the Zaire River. There are thought to be fewer than 10,000 left alive in the wild. So what is it with these little rascals? Well check this out! - The species is best characterised as being female led and is one that surprisingly, substitutes sex for aggression. As a result, Bonobo communities are peace loving (imagine if Madonna was USA leader). The strongest social bonds are among the females, although the females also bond with males. Bonobos become sexually aroused remarkably easily and this is why sex is the key to their social life. The diversity of erotic contact in Bonobos includes sporadic oral sex, massage of another individual's genitals and intense tongue kissing. In essence, they make love not war and they're at it 24/7! We're gonna seek out this video and make it available through our online shop. It's a film on more than level. You get all the stuff we just mentioned, plus the added bonus of watching a mini chimp-type guy trying to decide between having a wank or having a banana? Bonobos never let you down and our hero settles for scranning the banana whilst wanking himself off with the soles of his hand-like feet! Truly humbling and in the great big scheme of things you have to wonder if somewhere down the line, we humans made the wrong lifestyle choice? Watch it, you'll be so amazed that 5 minutes later you wonder if you dreamt it.
